Our first few days at HOME

We've had a really good first few days at home. Georgea is jet-lagged just like Mommy & Daddy, but we're all hanging in there. Georgea was awake most of her first night, she just couldn't understand that day was night & night was day. 15 hours is a big shift in time for a little girl. James & I of course had the will to get on the right program, but baby girl wasn't getting it. Night #2 she slept for 4 hours....from 9pm to 1:00am. That meant a pretty sleepless night for us as well. Night #3 was a change of pace though! My friend Sue suggested keeping Georgea up until midnight to see if she would sleep longer & later....and she DID! She slept 6 hours night #3 hurray! We did the same thing last night, put her down at midnight & she slept until 8am! Seriously, 8 hours of sleep our 4th night home. Now that's a dream come true. We're definitely on the path to normalcy and tonight we'll put her down 30 minutes or an hour earlier to work gradually toward a normal bedtime schedule. We've got our fingers crossed.

Here are a few shots of our first days back at home as a family of 4 (that includes Vida, of course)....

Ready for her first dip in the pool.

Sleepy girl....jetlag is sooo painful.

OK, maybe not such a good idea?

We thought a little swim would help keep Georgea awake in the middle of the day, but a little skimming of her toes in water was as far as we got. Maybe better on a day when she's had more than 2 hours of sleep the night prior?

This is Vida's permanent expression since we got home. Poor girl. She's been so good, but she's definitley aware that a change has occured.

The smiles just melt my heart. I'm absolutely putty in her sweet little hands.

LOL Mama!! We crack each other up.

What a sweet surprise on our first day back. The Chiavacci kiddos sent Georgea a warm welcome home via a teddy bear & balloon arrangement....she LOVED this!

The card was super entertaining.

Sleepy girl finally gets her nap.
