Our 24 hour trek home went better than we could have hoped. We didn't really get much sleep, but Georgea was in good spirits the whole trip which I think is amazing. The flight from Tokyo to San Francisco was a little over 9 hours and went very well, largely in part to the amazing feat that Daddy achieved by scoring us the bulkhead seats with the baby basinett. Georgea did get a total of about 3 hours in the basinett and it was really awesome to have the extra legroom and comfy spot to place our little snuggle bunny.
In Tokyo headed for San Francisco. We were already a little tired from the 4 hour flight from Guangzhou to Tokyo and from getting up so early, but baby girl was hanging in there!

Wow - what a wonderful trip home! Our flight out of GZ was delayed 2.5 hours, and as a result we missed connections in Japan, and lost our basinett seats. She did - however - sleep on the tray tables of the seat in front of us for several hours (I think it reminded her of the crib in the SWI). Love the pics of GZ as well - gives us a hint of what to look forward to!
Glad you are home - enjoy the living!
hugs - aus and co.
So we get to the check in counter in Beijing for our 13, or was it 14 (?) hour flight to Chicago, and though we had previously reserved bulkhead seating, the very young gal at the counter told me that she moved us because....ready for this.....because kids aren't allowed in an emergency row exit. The fact that I was looking at her like she was as dumb as rocks and repeatedly trying to explain to her in my best Chinese language that bulkhead seating is where the bassinet goes for BABIES...she looked at me like I had 3 heads and stuck to her very intelligent way. Urrr.....I was not happy.
Glad to see that babies do use the bassinets. =0)
Oooh no! That's the worst. James reserved the basinett in advance, but we were afraid something like what happened to you guys might happen. SO sorry, and you guys had such a long travel day. Ugh!!
OMG - that bassinet is AMAZING!!! If only they had something similar for 5 year old boys... LOL!
